About the Doctor

Dr. Abul Fazal Shohag, MBBS, MS (Orthopaedic Surgery) is an accomplished Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon with extensive experience in trauma care, joint surgery, and advanced spine management. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Spine Surgery in the Government Health Service of Bangladesh.
Dr. Shohag graduated with an MBBS degree in 2005 from Jahurul Islam Medical College. Following graduation, he underwent comprehensive surgical training at Sir Salimullah Medical College (Mitford Hospital) and Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital, where he gained extensive experience in general and orthopaedic surgery.
In 2011, he was admitted into the Master of Surgery (MS) in Orthopaedic Surgery program at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). He successfully completed his postgraduate training and obtained his MS degree in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2019.
Driven by a special interest in spine surgery, Dr. Shohag subsequently completed a Fellowship Training Program in Spine Surgery at the Bangladesh Spine and Orthopaedic Hospital (BSOH) under the guidance of the renowned spine surgeon Professor Dr. Md. Shah Alam. During this fellowship, he received advanced training in the diagnosis and management of spinal disorders, including minimally invasive and modern spine surgical techniques.
Dr. Shohag joined the Government Health Service of Bangladesh in 2014 and has since served in various clinical and academic positions with dedication and professionalism. After completing his postgraduate training, he worked as a Consultant at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), one of the country's premier tertiary orthopaedic institutions.
In 2023, he joined Upazila Health Complex, Kasba, Brahmanbaria, as a Junior Consultant (Orthopaedic Surgery), where he has been providing specialized orthopaedic and spine care to patients from both urban and rural communities. In recognition of his academic achievements and professional contributions, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Professor of Spine Surgery in 2026.
